Accessibility Statement
(Status of this statement: 23 September 2020)

The Specialised Information Service for International and Interdisciplinary Legal Research (SIS intRecht, in German: FID intRecht) strives to make its web presence accessible. This digital accessibility statement is issued in accordance with the currently applicable versions of the German Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) and the Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Act (BGG). Both regulations define the technical requirements for achieving digital accessibility.

This statement applies to the portal for international and interdisciplinary legal research, intRecht, available at https://intrecht.de and https://vifa-recht.de/.

When was this accessibility statement created?

This statement was created on 21 September 2020.

How accessible is this service?

This service is largely accessible. Most of the BITV 2.0 requirements are met.

Which areas are not accessible?

None of the portal’s content is provided in Easy-to-Read German or in German Sign Language. Given the exclusively academic target audience, translating the portal’s content into Easy-to-Read German has been deemed dispensable.

intRecht Discovery Service Search Engine

Accessibility of the embedded intRecht Discovery Service search engine cannot currently be guaranteed, as it is still under development.

Open Access Repository intRechtDok

Information on the accessibility level of the Open Access Repository intRechtDok can be found here.

HTML Structural Elements (1.3.1 a–f)

Some HTML structural elements are only partially accessible, as the necessary Bootstrap classes are missing. A revision is in progress.

Input Fields Convey Purpose (1.3.5 a)

The embedded forms do not use autocomplete. The absence of the autocomplete attribute makes form completion more difficult. This functionality will be added in a future update.

Adequate Contrast of Text (1.4.3)

Because the site’s structural layout was created before the adoption of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, the 4.5:1 contrast ratio is not consistently guaranteed. A solution is being developed.

Visible Focus Indicator (2.4.7 a)

When navigating by keyboard, the focus indicator is not always clearly visible. Focus-management improvements will be implemented in the next major site revision.

Error Identification (3.3.1 a)

Form inputs are not always automatically validated before submission. This functionality will be added in the next major site revision.

All identified technical deficiencies will be rectified successively.
